Pictures

Ryan putting together the stroller. :)

Little miss will be reppin UC Davis

I just loved this.  :)

Didn't end up buying these but love these pants.  I planned on getting some cute, colored pants once I am wearing regular clothes again.  She can match her momma.

Some of the clothes hanging in the closet.  We got more since this photo was taken, though!

35 week appointment

Met with another midwife yesterday for our last 2 week appointment.  Seems like we were just starting on these! Now we will be going every week.  So crazy.  It's going to be hard to schedule my time around these things with work and all.

Anyway, the appointment went well.  Better than our last one!  The last one, (I can't recall if I wrote about it)  was scheduled with a doctor I didn't really care for.  I didn't even end up getting to ask all of my questions so I had a lot for the midwife this appointment.  I asked about my baby vibrating inside of me.  Lol.  That is really the only way I can explain it.  She said it is normal due to their nerves still developing and all of that.

Today, Ryan put together the car seat and stroller.  He even went and installed the car seat.  We're going to find a place so that we can get it checked, just to make sure it's all installed correctly.  Ryan was fussing over it, even though she isn't here yet.  So I think that will make him feel a little better.  Lol.

Tomorrow I plan on organizing some more.  We also have this huge bag o laundry to do.  After laundry is done, we're going to pack up her bag with a couple of outfits for her, some blankets and caps, and whatever else I might throw in there.  I am getting so excited.

We went to Target the other night and used our gift cards we received.  Oh my Lord, I wanted to buy all of the little girl's clothes they had there.  So many cute things.  So many cardies.  I die.  I resisted though.  We bought nipples for the bottles my sister-in-law gave us.  We also purchased some breast milk storage bags ,some more swaddling blankets and other random things.  I feel like we're doing pretty good and there may only be some small things we need still.

Also very important, I've started to figure out where I'll be doing her photos.  Lol.  I cannot wait.  :)

35 weeks. :)

Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now. He or she is over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon)! Because he or she is so snug in your womb, your baby isn't likely to be doing dramatic somersaults anymore, but the number of movements you feel should remain about the same.

Your baby's kidneys are fully developed now, and his or her liver can process some waste products. Basic physical development is now mostly complete – your baby's main job over the next few weeks is to put on weight.

We are hanging at Nana's right now, waiting for Christmas festivities to begin. Tamales, children screaming, ect. Ect.

We are only 5 weeks out. It could be sooner, but likely at the most 7 weeks How crazy is that? Time has flown by and I couldn't tell you even where it's gone.

I am trying to get everything ready for work for when I am out on leave. I feel like I am running out of time. Lol.

We only have little things left to get, on top of organizing. I am getting excited and have been watching all of the informational videos I can. :).

Out next appointment is the 28th. I will be checked them for how I am progressing.

34 weeks

Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.

Next appointment is December 28th.  They will check out how I am progressing then.  I wonder if she's in this for the long haul or if she plans on arriving sooner.  Either way, just to be safe, we're starting to get things ready now.

I have been watching these birthing class, breast feeding and infant care DVDs and I laugh so hard because Eliana really responds to her voice.  Lol.  I think it's the east coast accent the lady has.  She starts moving around all crazy.

The house is slowly but surely being taken over by little miss.  she's taking over my closet already, too.  I don't remember signing up for this.  If she were on house hunters on HGTV, she'd probably makes some lame joke right about now, about how the closets are all hers.

I can really feel how she is laying now.  One side of my stomach will move and get extremely firm.  It is where her butt is poking out.  Lol.

Not too much else to report at the moment.  I still need to go through and get some photos of the cute little outfits and things we got.  Getting really excited and I feel like the time is going to drag on, but we'll see.  Work Christmas party is coming up and we have to go to Bakersfield for Christmas.  I am sure before we know it, it will be January.  :)

Baby Shower #2

I work with some amazing people.  We received so much stuff at tonight's shower, including a bunch of people chipping in together at work to purchase us both our stroller/car seat combo and the swing thing we wanted.  I just feel so incredibly thankful.  I'll post some more photos later of some of the cute things we received, but here are a few from the beautiful shower.  :)

Belly Comparison

If I remember correctly, the smaller belly photo was one of the first pictures I took.  The second, I am wearing the same shirt but am 33 weeks.  Lol.  Just funny to see the difference.

I believe she recently got in to place, which explains why I've felt so much larger this past week.  Doctor confirmed today that she is head down and her bum is sticking right out in to my stomach.  Essentially, she's mooning you all.

Week 33, yo!

Baby update:

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

This weekend, Ryan and I took some time to start organizing our place and getting rid of the clutter.  I hung some of her baby clothes in my closet on the tiniest little baby hangers.  Ryan had to do a lot of organizing due to his massive amounts of books he has for school.  Basically, just lots of boring cleaning that took a lot longer than I thought it would, and we still have more to go.

In other news, we recently decided we liked the name Abigail for Eliana's middle name.  As of right now, that is the only one I really like.  So I suppose unless something else comes along and blow my mind, that's what we'll use.  :)

Well, the weeks seem like they might start dragging, though as they are passing, it goes by fast.  I am sure that doesn't make a damn bit of sense, but it's how I feel.  I am wanting to already get the bags packed and a car seat all in place.  I feel like by the time I am on maternity leave, I am not going to have anything left to do.

Nothing much to report.  Second baby shower this Friday and  I am looking forward to that! :) Also, meeting with the midwife for my next appointment and I think we're going to see if she's available to deliver Eliana.  I sure hope so!  We really liked her.

Weird dream!

I had an odd dream that I had my hand resting on my stomach, and Eliana's hand (through my skin) grabbed my finger and held on to it. Not that he broke through my skin, but that my skin was so stretchy, it wrapped around her hand and allowed her to grab my finger. Weirdest thing ever. Haha.

week 32

Baby center update:

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.

Baby girl seems to be kicking me in the middle of my chest, so I think she may have (hopefully!) flipped.  I'll see if the midwife can tell me at our next appointment, but I am sure it's hard for them, too.

We went to Bakersfield this weekend and Angel threw us a lovely shower.  It was nice and quiet and I was happy to kick off baby celebrations.  My coworkers are also throwing a shower for me, so I am spoiled.  :)  :)

I really like seeing Eliana's things around.  Makes me happy and remember that pretty soon, she'll be here hanging with us.  Though, I am sure I'll be less excited for her things being all over the place eventually.  I am started to try and figure out what we are going to do for organizing all of her little, itty bitty things.

I am grateful to those that came to the shower to support us and grateful for their help with Eliana's things.  Here are a few pictures from the shower, mainly the food, that I took.

A special thank you to Angel for hosting this and making it so lovely.,

Organizing

Decided to organize some of baby girls things, which means throw them all in her nifty sleeper we receive at our shower. ;).

Also, look at that super sweet Snow White costume Aunt Angel purchased for her.

Met with a midwife today/31 weeks

So we decided to meet with a midwife today, opposed to the doctor that we usually meet with.  I've really been putting a lot of thought in to how I am hoping my labor/delivery goes and it seemed like a midwife might be helpful and align with the things I want.  Though, I will say, I have absolutely no qualms with doctors.  None what so ever.  Especially so with the doctors at our hospital.  My first question for her was if she thought there was much of a difference in philosophy between doctors and midwives.  I was pleased to hear that though this may be the case for many other hospitals, that really at this hospital, it wasn't so much of a difference.  I feel like no matter what, we'll be in good hands.  I mean, they all already know a hell of a lot more than I do.  lol.  We are going to meet with her again for our next appointment in two weeks.  Between now and then, we are going to make a decision on if she will  be the one delivering us, or if we're going to stick with our doctor.  She made me feel at ease with the whole thing though, so I am not really worried either way.

Little miss is running out of room to run from the Doppler, so she is no longer squigling around when they get the heartbeat.  She stayed perfectly still and we could hear the difference of the heartbeat through the placenta VS the heartbeat through the rib cage.  It's crazy how loud that thing gets.  She said Eliana is measuring exactly at 31 weeks and I'm still in the range of where she wants me to be weight wise.  Glad to hear that!

I am semi worried because I had a sneaking suspicion that baby might be transverse.  My first hint was when I would get tapped in my hip bone on my left side, and also tapped in my rib cage area on my right.  I asked the midwife about this and she said she believes just by looking at me that I am correct.  :(  I know it's still early and a lot of babies are in funky positions at this point.  She said that we'll monitor it but that I should still give her more time to turn and get in to position.  Which I knew this before going on, but I worry anyway.  As I always say, there is just no room for sanity in pregnancy.  Lol.

Oh!  And I also remembered to ask about the birthing rooms that they have.  I checked them out online and they are nice.  It's a first-come -first-serve basis, but she said that she can only think of one time since she's worked there where they haven't had enough  rooms for everyone.  It will be nice because I can do labor, delivery and recovery there.  And they are more homey looking.  :)

So, at 31 weeks baby is measuring over 16 inches and weighs about 3.3 lbs.  She's flipping her hair back and forth, (AKA, she can turn her head from side to side.  Lol.) and she's plumping up as baby center says, but I feel like she'd prefer "gettin swoll".

Only 6 more weeks until she's considered full term and only 61 days to go until the due date.  :)

30 weeks, looking forward to the rest of the holidays.

Baby girl is about 15.7 inches long and weighing around 3 lbs!  She's getting big, but it's still hard to see where she's fitting all of this extra length and weight she's putting on.

Thanksgiving was awesome.  I love hosting dinners like this but man was I tired.  Sometimes I forget I'm almost 8 months pregnant.  I did a lot of prepping Wednesday night and went to bed with sore feet and a sore back.  I woke up feeling fine though, and really had to space out my work so that I could rest in between.  Mr. Green was a huge help, though.  So glad that my husband knows how to cook things.  I love having all of these leftovers.  Pregnant during the holidays yields quite the benefit.  haha.

Ryan and I never do black Friday sales and I wasn't about to start this year.  I was seeing a lot of my friends post about waiting in line at midnight at various stores.  I cannot even imagine doing that, especially this year. We did venture out in the late morning, though.  Went to Michael's and Joanne's so I could start making Christmas.  Also hit up Target so we could buy a new vacuum cleaner.  We vacuumed the morning of Thanksgiving and when I used the new vacuum today, you wouldn't even guess that we'd vacuumed in a month.  It was so disgusting how little our vacuum was picking up.  I feel so much better now, knowing Eli will be a bit cleaner crawling around this place.  :)

Today, I cleaned up a lot and started getting things ready to decorate.  I can't wait to have it all together, but I keep having to take breaks in between.  I do not like this and this will be one thing I will be happy to part ways with once I am not longer with child.  Though, I am sure she'll interrupt me plenty.  :)

I'm still enjoying watching her move around in there.  It cracks me up because it looks funny and at times it tickles.  I also think she'll be quite the Christmas fanatic. (Just like her momma.)  I was listening to Christmas music on my phone and set it on my stomach for a moment to do something, (don't judge me.  Yes, I use it as a shelf.) and she started kicking around in there.  For anyone who knows me pretty well knows just how in to Christmas I am.  Lol.  I cannot even imagine once she's here.  Ryan and I will get to make awesome Christmases for Eliana.  :)

We are meeting with a midwife this week for our prenatal appointment.  This will be the first midwife we meet with, as the rest have been doctors.  I kind of wanted to get a feel for how they differ just so we know our options.

29 weeks!

We are 73% complete with this pregnancy and only have 77 days remaining of freedom....erm, I mean....until baby girl gets here!

-2 1/2 lbs
-Over 15 inches long
-Veggie of the week:  Butternut squash

Baby girl's head is growing so accommodate her undoubtedly large brain.  Her muscles and legs are also maturing.  She's on her way!

We had a doctor appointment today.  Just our normal check up, but we had a lot more questions this week. We talked about pain management during birth, delayed cord clamping, lactation nurses and skin to skin with  baby.  For all of you who do not know what this is, this is (apparently, as I have learned since I've gotten pregnant) an important step in bonding, breast feeding, warming the baby and helping the woman recover. (I'll skip out on the details, but you can read in to it if you're curious.)  I am glad that I'll get a lot of support from the hospital in regards to breast feeding.  I really like the doctor we've been meeting with and I am pretty sure we are going to ask her to be the one to deliver our baby.  She suggested we meet with a midwife at least once, just to get that experience and see what we think about it. That will be for our next appointment in two weeks.  Aside from that, heart beat sounded great, doctor said I am measuring beautifully and I am still feeling pretty good.  :)

Oh yeah, I don't have the baby diabeetus.  WOOT!

I don't think you're ready for this belly.

28 weeks and hello 3rd trimester!

WE ARE IN THE THIRD TRIMESTER, AHHH!!

-Length:  Around 14.8 inc.
-Weight:  Around 2 & a quarter lbs.
-Apparently the size of a Chinese cabbage.  Fascinating.

Developing this week:

Baby girl is apparently sporting some eyelashes now, to give her those pretty eyes.  :)  No doubt, the same eye lashes she'll bat to get her way from daddy.  I can already see this now.  He keeps saying he is going to have to be the one that is the bad guy, but I'm on to her.

Aside from that, she's blinking and seeing light coming through the womb this week.  Her eye sight is also developing more and more, along with developing billions of neurons in her brain.  Crossing my fingers for a smarty pants. :)

Each week, the website I receive my updates about her from also show a picture of what the baby looks like in the womb.  I thought I'd share that this week:

Lame joke time!  "Hay, I am running out of womb in here!"

Anyway, our next appointment is next week.  I always look forward to hearing the heart beat and all of that good stuff. :)  I also have my infant nutrition class coming up on the 17th.  We'll also need to schedule our tour of the hospital and a birthing class soon.  Holidays are rapidly approaching, not to mention work is busy.  So I have a feeling things will start to speed up.  Also, baby showers are coming up as well!  Looking forward to all of these fun things.  :)

* Disclaimer:  I wrote this one day early.  Sue me.  It is 12:26 east coast time.  It still counts.  :P

Week 27

-Little Miss Eliana is up to 2 lbs this week!
-14 1/2 inches long (Where am I keeping all of this baby?)

Updates:
This week, babycenter mentioned that she will likely have a sleep schedule.  I have absolutely noticed this!  I wake up to her (or some days, wake up BECAUSE of her) kicking.  Not complaining, though.  I like to lay in bed and just feel her kicking before I have to start the day.  She's also usually pretty busy at night.  Great, really early in the morning and when I am trying to sleep.  I can see where this is going, Eliana.  :P

She's also opening and closing her eyes, according to the update, which I think is pretty crazy! She can also start getting hiccups soon, which I don't think I have felt yet.  I can't even imagine that!

Aside from that, I did my glucose test this past weekend.  Apparently they call if it is critical and I haven't heard anything yet.  (YAY!)  Our doctor will talk to us at our next appointment about the results.  Hopefully everything came back okay.  That test took forrrrrrr-eeeeeevvvvvv-errrrrr.  And the last time they drew blood, they bruised me badly.  I look like a druggy. :/

88 more days to go until the due date!  I feel like she'll be here before we know it. :)

Eliana's Auntie Beth came and visited us, and along with her, brought presents for Eliana.  Check them out:

Just in case this needs some esplainin':  Ryan thought it would be funny to have her take a photo wearing this, and then when she's acting up, she'll "stumble across" this photo and wonder what ever happened to her older sister?

She will rock this after bath time, and I will sing her the "Unicorn Song".

This is the gym Beth got her, where she'll get her push ups on and develop her 6 pack baby abs.

Another one from Auntie Beth.  "EXTERMINATE!"

Oh, and here's belly!

Kicking

Ahhh, I love feeling her kick.  Even if it is hard.  I was just watching her kick my left side and move around a bit.  It's amazing to see.  Especially since she was so quiet yesterday, I of course was freaking out. Lol.  I am telling you, if you like to keep your sanity, do not become pregnant.  It is totally normal for her to not be kicking non-stop, so there is no reason to freak out  But that sure doesn't stop me.  So when she starts again, I feel relief.  Lol  It doesn't help any that I am the type to worry, anyway  At least with this kind of situation.

I honestly don't even feel worried about birth  I am looking forward to it so that I can see her here and not have to rely just on feeling her.  Though I know things can happen after birth of course.  I guess I should just accept a never ending feeling of worry.  lol

But for now I feel great, watching her move around.  She also may have moved some.  She usually kick on my right side and today, it's all the left.  I've never felt kicks here before.

Belly post #2 Week 26

I think that lined shirt I was wearing yesterday made my stomach look bigger than it actually was, so...

Monday, October 22, 2012

26 weeks

Baby stats:

-Weighs about a pound and two thirds
-14 inches long
-Roughly the size of English hothouse cucumber, whatever that is.

Baby is working on her nosy utensils.  Her hearing is developing like mad so she can be nosy like mommy.  :)

She's been kicking so much more now.  I can even see it when I look down.  It's the craziest thing.  Sometimes, they're kind of hard and they make me jump.  I can't even control it.  She's trying to fight me and she's not even out of the womb yet.  She'd better watch her back.

Aside from that, I am just feeling especially thankful for being able to carry her, and then undoubtedly face a lot of pain to bring her in to this world.  I know that part doesn't sound too fun, but whatever it takes to get her here.  I was talking with a friend about someone in her family who is adopting, and all of the struggles they've gone through to get where they are.  It just made me feel incredibly grateful to be having this experience.

Aside from that, things are great.  Still feeling not so huge and I still get comments on how fast I move for a pregnant lady.  haha.

Pretty soon, I'll be switching to going to my doctor's appointments every two weeks.  It's getting real!  It's insane.

Well, here is jelly belly:

25 Weeks!

Oops!  I skipped week 23 and 24.  :( So here we are at 25!  In just 5 weeks, we'll be at 30 AND HOLY COW WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE!?  This little girl will be here before we know it.

Eliana's progress:
  • 13 1/2 inches
  • 1 1/2 lbs.
  • She's working on growing her lovely locks this week.
Also new this week, we've decided that Eliana has the worst kind of Jersey accent you could ever imagine.  She says things like, "I pump fists, not gas", ect. ect.  And every time I mess with my stomach, she freaks out and says in her accent, "WHAT ARE YOUS GUYS DOIN?!  I'M TRYNA SLEEP IN HERE!!"

Today we had a check up.  We scheduled our last 4 week appointment for November.  After that, we'll be there every two weeks.  As usual, Eliana ran from the doppler.  It got really awkward when she was yelling at the doctor about her muff cabbage.  I'm also 100% sure she somehow acquired a table in the womb and flipped it out of anger.

Still feeling pretty good.  Energy is good, still not too large and in charge.  Glad to be in the 3rd trimester!

I posted this on Facebook, but look at these adorable Halloween clothes Eliana will be able to wear next Halloween:

22 Weeks

Just one day left of 22 weeks for Baby Verde, but I figured I would get on here and update anyway.  :)

-11 inches
-1 pound (WOO HOO!)
-Length of a spaghetti squash.  (EEK)

Little Miss Eliana seems to be making her presence known lately.  IT seems she likes to work out after I eat breakfast and right as I am trying to lay down for bed.  (Of course.)  It's the oddest feeling because I imagine she's giving me little tiny fist bumps in the womb.  At least, that's what it feels like.  It's pretty amazing, though.  I am so curious to see what it will be like seeing her movements.

Doctor told us at our last visit that nearing our 30 weeks, we'll be coming in a lot more frequently.  I still do not feel insanely huge and so it still feels so far away for me.  When I stop and think about it, it's actually not!  Baby is due January 28th, and tomorrow we start October.  By the way, when will it start actually feeling like October, damn it?  The weather is supposed to be hotter than it has been in a while, and all week.  I feel ridiculous turning my AC on just so I can drink my decaf pumpkin spice lattes and not feel our of season.

I am so ready for fall, though!  I am thinking of trying to get someone to help me with some nicer maternity photos, opposed to my crappy camera phone pictures I've been taking.  You'd think I would use my nice camera I have?

Aside from that, a friend of mine who is a few weeks ahead of me got me this adorable outfit for Eliana yesterday.  (Ooooh, ahhhhh.)

I'll have to tell Eliana (when she gets here) that a shirt that says "everybody loves me" is a bit presumptuous of her.  We'll still need to see about that bit when she gets here.  :)

Aside from that, everything seems to be going well.  I am now starting to look forward to getting everything prepared and together for her before she gets here.  I think I'll start on birthing plans and having bags packed, ect. much earlier than what they probably recommend.  Only because I've read so many stories about people going in to labor 6 weeks early, and I'd rather have our bag packed before that and have it just sitting, than have to throw things in a bag in a rush.

21 weeks

Fruit of le week:  Pomegranate!
Inches: 10.5
Weight:  3 quarters of a pound

Had a check up today and heard the babies heart beat.  Also got my flu shot.  Wooohoo.  I am getting vaccinated for whooping cough next visit in October.  Plus, they are doing my diabeetus (hahaha) test, which I hope comes out negative.  (Obvi)  Eliana also seems to like to show off at the doctors' office.  As soon as the doctor was finding her heart beat, she started moving like crazy.  (Just like she did at the last appointment.)  It's still so crazy to hear her heartbeat.  Doctor confirmed that she was measuring beautifully.  YAY!  This makes me happy.

Aside from that, we're still struggling with a middle name.  It's so hard to come up with a name that will be with someone for the rest of their lives.  The first name was easy, but I think it's because we already knew about it before we were even expecting.  So, what goes good with Eliana?  haha.

We registered last weekend.  Oh my, was that a process.  Pretty sure we were at Babies R Us for 3 hours.  I was so tired by the time we were finished.  Plus, I've been fussing over the list online.  I am going to give myself a week or so to try and complete it.  It's just insane how many things go with babies.

Something odd I thought about:  Today at the doctor's office we were given the form to pre-register for delivery.  I think that was one of those moments when it hit me:  My lady parts are going to have quite a day.  lol.  No, really though.  It actually made think of how real this is getting and how excited I am.  (Despite the above.)

Hay, girl...

My title made me think of those Ryan Gosling meme photos, and now I want to come up with one.

So we finally made it and we were able to see pictures of our little GIRL.  I am very happy to know finally and have felt an instant increase in bonding with this little one.  Plus, it was beyond amazing to see her moving around and doing whatever it is babies do in such cramped quarters.

Right before we go in to the waiting room, I felt Eliana moving more than she ever has before.  I think she was getting ready to put on a show for us.  Anyway, as soon as the tech starts, I was just so blown away with how much she already looks like a baby and how big she looked.  (Especially in comparison to the tiny little sea horse I saw at week 8!)  The most incredible thing was watching her move around so much and being able to feel it all, as well.  She looked like she was doing crunches, bicycle kicks and various other work outs, so she is already keeping up with her fitness.  This will bode well for her later in life.  We were able to see her drink water and open and close her fists.  For some reason, that is impressive for a baby.  Lol.  I was "oooohing" and "ahhhing" over it the whole time.

All of her measurements came out to where they should be.  The doctor said her brain was looking really good and she took an extra close look at her heart, due to family history.  Her heart was looking good as well and we could see all four chambers.  It's pretty neat.

I am just so in love with this little one already.  I feel so amazed seeing how much she has developed since I last saw her.

Now, we prepare for her arrival.  We already bought an adorable little outfit, which I cannot wait to see her in.  I just keep trying to picture her face and who she might look like.  I know it's hard to tell when they're infants.  They all look like little old men to me.  But I suppose we'll be there soon enough.

I was so glad Ryan got to be there with me and see it all, too.  Little Eliana, we are so excited for your arrival!

20 Weeks-This ish is bananas!

Here we are, finally at 20 weeks!  YAY!  The baby center update notified me that my baby is the length of a banana.  Hence the Gwen Stefani inspired title.

Aside from that, our little girl or boy is becoming more active.

Biggest news is this Wednesday, only two days away, we find out the sex!  I cannot contain myself!

Sometimes, I feel like my belly is huge, and other times it seems smaller.  I notice it most when I try to put a shirt on that used to fit. haha.

Nothing new to report as of now.  Will update on Wednesday! :) :) :) :) :)

On Friday, I think I felt two tiny little kicks.  :)  Very exciting.  I was doing something else while it happened though, so it was hard to know for sure. :/

Week 19

Here we are at week 19 and 0 days!  Baby Verde is apparently trippin balls right now, due to sensory development.  Just going crazy with smell, taste, hearing and vision.  He/she is also developing vernix caseosa, which prevents my baby from pickling inside of me.  Good looking out, vernix caseosa.  I do not want a pickled baby.  Aside from that, I'm told a 19 week baby measures around 6 inches long and weighs about 8 1/2 ounces.  It's crazy to think this little one isn't even up to a pound yet.  haha.  So tiny.

Aside from that, we have just 9 days left until we find if Baby Verde is a little girl or a little boy.  We're so looking forward to it, but I'm also always so nervous right before my appointments.  You just want to know everything is okay in there and there is no real way of telling right now, aside from your insanely spaced out doctor visits.  (Well, they feel that way if you're worrying.)

Ryan broke and was the first to purchase something for the baby.  I thought for sure it might be me.  Of course it should come as no surprise it says "I love my daddy".  It's totally Davis themed, too.  Has little cows on it.

Aside from that, we're doing fine and are so excited to find out and start calling Baby Verde by his or her name.  <3

Baby Verde Week 18!

Baby Verde is now the size of a bell pepper, which oddly enough, I've been craving with eggs a lot.  Mmmm.  Baby Verde is about 5 & 1/2 inches long, according to my baby tracking app.

My once deep belly button is becoming quite shallow.  Sometimes, it's hard to notice my stomach is growing, but I am reminding by this constant itching.  IT PUTS THE LOTION ON THE SKIN OR ELSE IT GETS THE HOSE!

My sister-in-law and nephew are in town and staying with us, so we have a lot of activity to keep our minds busy until the 12th of September.  =D  Only 16 more days!  I can't wait to see this little bell pepper of mine, since I haven't seen he/she since he/she looked like a sea horse, or some sort of other creature.  The husband could not make the first ultra sound, so this will be the first time he gets to see.  I am really excited for him!

Everything else seems to being going well.  I am such an old lady these days.  Didn't get to bed until 11 something last night and it felt like I didn't get to sleep until 3am.

Baby Verde as of week 17

So it felt like Baby Verde has been more active lately.  It’s not necessarily a feeling of something hitting against my stomach.  It’s more what I would imagine it would feel like if someone was stirring something inside of me.   As though baby Verde might be in there just doing fabulous flips and such.  Very exciting to be feeling that.

Gender scan is in 21 days!  So excited to find out what we are having.  Still crossing my fingers for a girl, but really leaning toward it being a boy.  So we’ll have a little David or a little Eliana.

Experience some slight weight gain finally.  I was doing pretty good with swimming to keep active, but baby needs to grow.  :)

We have a few activities planned coming up in the next couple of weeks, so here’s to hoping that will help these next 21 days fly by.

Getting excited to have this little one here and see what he/she looks like, but right now that all seems so abstract.  It’s as though that day will never come.

I have been looking in to tons of cute photo ideas.  I know what I will be doing on my maternity leave!

Baby Verde as of Week 14

Good morning!

Today I decided to make a blog to track baybay stuff, so I can remember my week-to-week.  I got the idea  from Miss Nelly and thought it was a better way of going on and on about Baby Verde, opposed to Facebook.

Currently, I am 14 weeks along.  My energy seems to be pretty good, Monday - Friday, 7:30 - 4:00.  So basically, all of the time I am at work.  :/  I seem to keep getting headaches on the weekends only.  Of course.

But, baby right now is about 3 1/2 inches long and weighs about 1 1/2 ounces, according to my baby center updates.  Baby Verde can also pee in me, which is kind of crazy.

As far as belly goes, it looks like I've had a big meal and my gut is sticking out.  I've only taken about 2 belly pictures so far but will remember to take them from here on out.

Ryan is in Berkeley right now for a conference, presenting his research.  Our next appointment is sometime mid August and then next month, on the 12th, we find out the sex.  That seems forever from now, though.
